When: Tuesday, October 7th
Where: North Country Sportsman's Club
Map: http://www.shootncsc.com/Map.html
Signup: Send Dayle an email if you plan on going (vtmoonlight@gmail.com)
This is NOT a hunter's education program.
This IS a class to become a certified instructor, a person who wants to share their love and experience of hunting with others.
WAIT!!! Don't have experience but do have teaching skills, and/or a willingness to be an assistant? Then send Dayle your name, email and phone number so that she can have a list of volunteer assistants to work with certified instructors in upcoming classes. Assistants do not need to attend this class.
From the State of Vermont's site (http://www.vtfishandwildlife.com/edu_hunter.cfm#instructors):
Approximately 5,000 students participate in the Vermont Hunter Education Program annually. As a result, the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department is always looking for volunteer instructors. The work is demanding, the pay is lousy, and the hours are often long and inconvenient. Instructors love their work not because of any material rewards or benefits, but because they know they are contributing in some small way to the future of hunting and trapping.
All instructor applicants must meet the following requirements:
All volunteer instructor candidates must complete an application process that includes providing personal references and a criminal history background check. This paperwork will be given to you at the class October 7th. The instructor candidates attend an instructor certification course where they (we) learn about the policies and guidelines of being a Vermont Hunter Education Program instructor. Once the class is complete and all of the background checking is done, you will become a Certified Instructor able to hold your own training programs or co-teach others who need the help.
Thank you for your interest.
